WESTCOTT GIVE WILDLIFE A HELPING HAND

16/03/15

Work is underway to create a native woodland area at Westcott Venture Park in a collaborative venture with the Woodland Trust, it was announced this week.

A total of 10,000 trees are being planted on the 650-acre former Government Research Facility, which will cover an area of 7.25 hectares and will enhance the parkland setting within the rural community.

A mix of native species is being planted by the Woodland Trust for permanent screening and as a benefit to wildlife on the park, on land adjacent to the A41 and along the western boundary of the site.

“Owner of the park, Rockspring is investing £10,000 in this environmental initiative so we feel we are doing our bit to support the environment at the same time as making good use of unproductive land,” says Colin Theobald, director at Lambert Smith Hampton and managing agent at Westcott Venture Park.

Westcott Venture Park is now home to 71 businesses employing over 400 people and is managed by Lambert Smith Hampton. Construction is underway on the first phase of speculative industrial development known as Century Court. The scheme comprising 45,000 sq ft of Grade A accommodation will be opening for occupation later this year.
